Last month, I went camping in Prairie Creek Redwoods State Park for a couple of days with Tom and Marc, two other photographers. I hadn’t been camping in a very long time. The biggest challenge for me was changing clothes in a backpacking tent.

Big Monet
This was my second time at L’Orangerie. The first time, I was overawed by the Monets that I didn’t realize that there was much more upstairs. Oops. This time, there was a wonderful cubist exhibit.
The guard here had her head down like she was dozing. There must have been two dozen people pointing their smartphones at the Monets. Several times, I was photographing people looking at paintings through their smartphones and not looking up.

The Calm Before the Hordes

This is the Seine in the heart of Paris the day before Easter. The hordes of those pesky tourist have already started piling in. Was really surprised to see this view of calm.

Icebergs in Lago Argentino

Every now and then, one comes across a natural color that seems unnatural. I grew up with the impression that icebergs were white. Not so, these, or any of the ones I saw in Argentina. I’ve heard the more pressure the ice is under the deeper the blue.
Fog at Dry Lagoon

This time of year at Dry Lagoon is great. It’s WET. It’s also a risky place to visit. Going north along the lagoon or beach, it’s fine. But going south, there are some gorgeous rock formations. If you’re not careful and watching the tides, you’ll either be stranded or have a very long hike via Big Lagoon, 101, then the road back in to Dry Lagoon. This is one of my favorite places.
Reflection & Clear Water

Reflection and clear water. Two things that aren’t usually occurring in Dry Lagoon.
