The Titanic may have seen an iceberg closer than this. But, not by much. This was chunked off the Perito Moreno glacier in Argentina.

Every now and then, one comes across a natural color that seems unnatural. I grew up with the impression that icebergs were white. Not so, these, or any of the ones I saw in Argentina. I’ve heard the more pressure the ice is under the deeper the blue.

This time of year at Dry Lagoon is great. It’s WET. It’s also a risky place to visit. Going north along the lagoon or beach, it’s fine. But going south, there are some gorgeous rock formations. If you’re not careful and watching the tides, you’ll either be stranded or have a very long hike via Big Lagoon, 101, then the road back in to Dry Lagoon. This is one of my favorite places.
