While Tom was at the VA, I hiked down to Golden Gate Park. Saw the archers near 47th then the Dutch windmill at the west end of the park. As I started the long uphill back to the VA, I spotted these flowers growing next to the dilapidated boardwalk wall.
Tonight we drove up to the Kneeland Airport to photograph the big moon. We were all alone with the exception of a fire crew. We went through the gate and across the runway to catch the moon rising over the trees. While waiting, the sunset provided oranges and pinks above us. As the sky darkened, the moon rose behind clouds. This picture is from about an hour after moonrise.
Early morning at HSU. I’m amazed at the landscaping. The gardening staff should be proud.
There was a rumble in the jungle … eons ago.
The last time this trestle was used there were still first growth two to three hundred foot redwoods in this forest. Now, it’s just a planter for fallen seeds.
Trying out a new workflow on an old photo. The translucency of the petals turned out well. Hope you like it.
Here’s a “cleaner” version of yesterday’s post. Was playing around this morning and came up with an interesting idea. Yesterday’s image is a component of this one.
From the lower outside wall of the house I lived in in Fieldbrook seven years ago. Surrounded by a forest of redwood, alder, fir, and spruce.
Flowering will be over pretty soon and I can get back to other things. Right now I’m thinking I’ll do a series called Rural Urban Landscapes … or maybe Urban Rural Landscapes. Probably the latter as it seems more appropriate.
